ENERGY

Our expertise includes construction of new gas plants and distribution infrastructure, power stations and upgrades to existing plants. We have substantial experience in utilising our in-house expertise to complete all facets of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). From Argentina to Mexico, solar in Latin America is growing unprecedentedly and NAPIC has contributed with important roles not only in the past and recent moments but also in the coming years.

Our scope of work and our ability to deliver projects on time and on budget across the most remote locations and extreme conditions is testament to the skill and experience of our project management teams. Backed by a strong internal collaboration model, they are experts at managing the safety, quality and logistical challenges unique to transmission and distribution line construction, with a particular focus on environmental and landowner risks.

Our market leading position in the power generation, transmission line and distribution lines sector is supported by a close and productive relationship with major electricity utilities and suppliers throughout local and overseas markets.

Solar power has been seeing substantial growth in many countries across the globe such as in Latin America. Nevertheless, the growth rates have been astounding. As reported by TreeHugger, Latin American solar grew 370 percent in 2014, and as if that weren't enough, it is expected to triple again in 2015 and 2016.

NAPIC among leaders in the industry saw the opportunities in the barren lands of northern Chile, Venezuela and Argentina, to take advantage of some of the best natural conditions for solar in the world. As example of ideal location and climate condition, the high horizontal solar radiation in areas in and around the Atacama Desert make solar technologies more productive in these regions, translating into lower costs per unit of electricity generated.

NAPIC has also been advocate of off-grid projects and has invested in off-grid solar technology since it is a significant infrastructural challenge to expand existing power network to remote areas, and often it's simpler and easier to just install distributed generation capacity closer to where it will be used.

Latin America, like many regions around the world including the emerging markets such as India, China, Philippines, Malaysia, and many Asian countries has plenty room to grow. While 300-plus-percent growth figures are impressive, they are largely being driven by forward thinking countries such as those in South America. But as the industry grows in these countries, their neighbors in the region begin to take note, and the latter ones would also desire a larger piece of the solar pie as well.

Latin America and South-East Asia will remain regions to invest heavily in solar technology in next 10-20 years.
